Colour vision testing
If people in your organisation routinely make colour decisions based on what they see, it may be wise to have their colour vision tested periodically. In the general population some eight per cent of males (but only 0.4 per cent of females!) have defective colour vision and may not know it.
Alongside its colour training courses VeriVide also offers individual colour vision testing, which is always performed sensitively and discreetly. The two basic tests used are simple to perform, and can be enjoyed almost as games.
The Ishihara TestJAPANESE日本学生老师
VeriVide colour vision testing includes the Ishihara Test for colour blindness, a condition characterized by reduced ability to distinguish different colours of the spectrum.
As in the example below, the Ishihara Test consists of 24 plates with randomised dots forming numbers that are more or less visible depending on the degree of any colour vision defect. The full test can give a very accurate defect diagnosis.
The Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test
Used widely in industry for over 40 years, this test detects colour vision abnormalities and assesses colour acuity (the ability to identify changes in colour).
Four trays contain a total of 85 movable coloured tiles.
The subject arranges the tiles in each tray in order of hue. Depending on how much misplacing occurs, colour vision aptitude can be assessed with some accuracy.

How to purchase
Tests are performed in artificial daylight in a VeriVide Colour Assessment Cabinet. If you want personnel tested on your own premises, we can bring a portable assessment cabinet if you do not already own one.
Test results are analysed by VeriVide and certificates are issued for each individual showing their total score and classification (low, average or superior).
Anyone with weaknesses in a particular colour area can optionally be retested for a more precise diagnosis.
Tests can take place at your own premises, or at an agreed location, or at our UK headquarters.
